As president and CFO of Mandalay Resort Group, Glenn set the trend for the “up-scalization” of The Strip that continues apace. Still ahead of the curve and now President and CEO of Fontainebleau Resorts Group, he will top the new Fontainebleau Las Vegas with a blue cube of light by artist James Turrell. Glenn was included among the “Big Dippers” in Vanity Fair’s art issue (December ’06)—the biggest of the big-dog art collectors, with the likes of Paul Allen, Steven Wynn, Si Newhouse, David Rockefeller, Tita Thyssen-Bornemisza and others.

A graduate of the prestigious University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop, Glenn has had a lifelong affinity for literature. He counts scores of well-known writers, essayists, playwrights and poets among his friends. In support of the literary arts, in 2000, he founded the International Institute of Modern Letters at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (since incorporated into the Black Mountain Institute at UNLV) to “identify and financially support writers from around the world whose voices are muffled by persecution or censorship.” Glenn continues to underwrite programs in translation, quality book publishing, as well as various scholarship, PhD, and literary prize programs.
